Hello Everyone!!
Well the New Year is here! I wish
you all of the best this new year. And Congratulations WOOLF FAMILY!!
It's a boy! I'm excited to him when I get home!
So if you are wondering...no we did not party on New Years....haha. We
spent the night packing for Hermana Avelar, she left yesterday back to
California. That was really hard. But my new companion is Hermana Blasco
de Spain! She was my roommate before so it will be an easy transition for her. She is so much like
Kendra, I love it. : ) We spent our preparation day today deep cleaning
and finding the correct energy flow for the furniture in our room. It
was exhausting, but just like old times when I was younger. I
am so excited for this next transfer, we were planting a lot of
seeds the last transfer and we had a lot of miracles and now we are
seeing the fruits of these labors. We have one investigator named Javier
who is from Columbia and he is so excited and ready to be baptized this month and change his life. We also had Marvin who
we had been teaching but said he didn;t want to learn more call us the
other day so he'll be teaching him again. It's kinda weird being back in
our area because we were at the Temple visitor center
every night for festival of lights but change is good, and I'm
constantly being stretched. Oh and Rebecca Chappell (friend from high
school) is now my roommate and she arrived yesterday. I watch her and I
remember how hard it was to transition at first so I'm looking for ways to help her loosen up and be herself. Everything is going really
good, I get fed a lot of latin food and I see people's faith grow
everyday. How amazing it is to be a part of this work.
One thing that I experienced very strongly at my time in festival of
lights is the concept of recieving a witness after the trial of your
faith. Many nights when I had felt so spiritually prepared and ready to
talk to people, they all would either be mean or just walk away mid-sentence. This was really hard and I realized that all of the
sisters were having the same thing happen to them on some of the days as
well. So I pushed on in those nights having faith that the night would
turn for the better. I promise you that everytime I did that, everytime I
didn't give up and get down on myself, I found a miracle. I was able to
help someone who has humble enough to talk and listen, I found a
distraught person that I could help uplift, or even a grumpy old man
that I am able to make laugh. This is the work that I love. I feel closest to the Savior when I search for the people that need
some light in their lives. A lot are not ready for baptism, nor want
it, but the Savior talked to everyone and I am trying my best to be more
like him. I hope that you all are able to look at this new year with
hope and continue to seek to do good things in this world; we all have so much we can give.
I love you all and I pray you are all well!
Hermana Clement
PS. I am trying to write everyone back, just know that I
appreciated all of your cards and packages, I feel really loved. I will
do my best to write back!!
