Family!

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?? Your baby is 22 years old! haha. :) Thank you for your cards, packages, emails and love! I feel so blessed. So remember that one year when everyone forgot my birthday and thought it was the next day, so I went all day thinking there was a surprise party and when I realized there wasn't I started crying...? Well, my roommates forgot it was my birthday. ha. I guess I was prepared for this moment. I'm jk it wasn't that bad, it was just funny when the night before we were all talking about it and then the next morning we were working out and getting ready and then I finally say, "wow I'm 22". They all looked at me horrified and hugged me yelling happy birthday! It has been fun. We had a zone activity and ate a lot
of food and played improv games...reminded me of you Elder Mann. And I was decked out in my unicorn garb! So yup, it has been a good day so far! I hope that you crack open a new tub of mint ice cream back home!

So We've had a couples changes here, a new Visitor Center director and it is FREEZING. But like they say nothing is as constant as change. Adapting to change has always been a little hard for me, but it is getting easier and my trust in the Lord has been strengthend. One thing that is so cool out here is to witness all of the miracles and people who are put in your path for a reason. We met this girl outside her apartment and though she speaks more English than Spanish we asked if we could stop by later and she said sure. Well we show up the next night and she's not there but her boyfriend's mom is. So we had a good 20 min of small talk with her to find out that she had met with the missionaries a couple of times before and so a lesson naturally began because she had a lot of questions. So we ended up teaching her and her 13-yr-old son Walter. It was amazing. She told us we were an answer to her prayers and they are both wanting to change. THat is key, finding people who have that desire to have a change in their current situation for the better. A moment that I will always remember is when we asked Walter what he thought about God. He gave the sincere answer of, "God loves little children, because Jesus always had the kids come to him". It reminded me of when I was little, I remember my strong faith as everynight I prayed to a Heavenly parent that I knew was there though I had never seen them. I owe this to the example of my older sisters who would often come read stories, pray, and tuck me in. We tend to lose a lot of that faith that we have as kids and though we gain reason that is necessary as we get older, the savior has asked us to become as little children: teachable, humble, loving, patient. We learn from the little ones just as much, if not more, as they learn from us.

I love you all! Keep looking for the positives and you'll find greater joy.

Love always,
Hermana Clement
