Hola! (REAL EMAIL)

February 20, 2013

Buenos Dias!

Happy week after Presidents's Day a few days ago!...no we didn't do anything cool. But it has been a good week. So my new companion is awesome, Hermana Word from Las Vegas! She has these crazy energy rushes and it's hard to keep up with her, and then when we sit down for a lesson, she passes out. haha. We've had some great experiences and she has been just the missionary that we needed to help Lourdes and her son Walter. (She's really chill and down-to-earth). This week, a lot of our scheduled appointments fell through and we didn't have much luck chasing down Latinos in the street with Francis (a member that comes out with us often). But we did have a really good lesson with Lourdes and Walter this week about the Book of Mormon and why it is so important to read it in our day. And one thing that we try to use are those mormon messages on mormon.org that share stories of different members from all around the world. The only thing was that her 4-yr-old son Alex was consumed with mario kart on her phone so we started without showing them. Well as the lesson was going I kept getting the feeling that Walter really needed to watch this one video  about a 20-yr-old that had a hard time with his parent's divorce growing up (Kevin Federson-video) and so we asked if we could get the phone, but Alex started crying so we abondoned it...but in my heart I was praying that Alex would fall asleep. So as we are about to leave Walter walks into the hall and comes back with the phone to our surprise. So we pulled up the video. As we left, we turned around to say goodbye, and there was Alex passed out on the floor in the hall as if he had been knocked out.....so prayer works....:) he was fine, he was breathing. It is just amazing how many miracles we could see in our lives if we would just ask, having the right intention. I'm striving to keep a view of reality but at the same time keeping an open heart to the miracles of Heaven. I love you all!!! Keep up with all of the fun and crazy theatrical stuff!!!

Love Hermana Clement

Ps. Kristen, I got permission to send for the ukulele to have it out here, and I was wondering if you aren't using it if mom can send it here? We have a lot of opportunities to sing and it just so happens that the new visitor center
director loves ukes. Let me know...:) THank you all! And thank you for your notes and cards, they always brighten the day!

Change!

February 13, 2013

Happy Valentine's Day!!! and Happy Birthday Kendra (and Abe Lincoln)!!!

I hope the cruise was fun and that you got to explore a lot! How are you doing this week? Things here are changing quite a bit and now I will be at the Visitor Center everyday instead of only 4 times a week. CRAZY. It is because they are changing a lot of our areas to full proselyting (or full time teaching). So this transfer will be more focussed on the VC although we still teach in our area as well. Also, I got a new companion named Hermana Word. We both had the same trainer so it has been fun to have similar memories. But I had a good last week with Hermana Blasco, and I'm definitely gonna miss being spontaneous with her.

I don't have my camera with me but next time I'll post the photos. I was asked to sing at this year's first night of music and inspiration. It felt like home being on the stage and singing again. It was fun to hear the variety of performances since we have missionaries from all over the world. There was even an islander number about Jesus Christ that was awesome. Reminded me of the Mann Family! It was a good way to end this transfer and I'm looking forward to the upcoming ones. Another fun thing that happened when I was with Hermana Blasco, is that we were teaching this lady named Gaby and her daughter Ariel, and they had a big dog that was really a puppy, but was a BIG DOG. So Hermana Blasco doesn't like dogs and for some reason this "puppy" kept trying to climb on top of her. So as she was sharing a scripture about humilty the dog had crept around the couch and then out of no where pounced on her back. We walked out the house and she looked at me with big eyes and said, "I hate dogs." I t was pretty funny.

It is so crazy that it has been 5 months. That is something that hit me the other day. I am just so grateful for all of the support, especially from you all. The Lord has blessed me here without holding back and I hope that you are feeling blessed as well. I know that Heavenly Father will help each of us, even when we feel we are out of his reach. Don't let pride block your view of heaven. Love you all!

Hello Hello

Thursday, February 7, 2013 1:13 PM

Woolf Family I got the package! :) Thank you everyone again for your birthday wishes, it really made this past week fun. You are all the best!!!

SO...How goes it at home? I heard some of youe are on a cruise...someday we'll get on a cruise with the rest of the family Kendra. haha. And everyone else, I hope your families and lives are awesome and that you
are loving every minute of everyday. Even the ridiculously stressed-out annoying days. I love each of you so much and I do miss you. :)

I am currently emailing in the family history center here is Kensington and there is an old English couple next to me talking with funny accents....focus. focus. Constable Jones/Melvin miss you!

Well My Spaniard (my companion this transfer) and I had some really unexpected miracles this last week. We had been visiting a couple that isn't married but has two little boys and they really had no idea what we were trying to share with them. This was definitley a growing experience in trying to find ways to explain the Gospel in a way that they will understand. We had used scriptures, stories, we even used cups to share the message about the restoration but each time we talked to them it was like it was our first time there. Because of this pattern we were told be other missionaries to consider stop going by but we both felt we should keep going for some reason. So this last time we went and everything had changed. They were excited to learn, they had watched the video we left, they had prayed, and were excited about church.....we left that lesson with puzzled expressions
"what had just happend?" You never know who is ready, that is why listening to the spirit is so important.

One quick gross story happened the other day. So being stateside we are preatty spoiled with cars (yes Elder Mann I can drive even with my record haha), apartments, and good food. But the other day I had an encounter with a cocoroach!!
In my cup of hot chocolate!!!! But we were at someone's house and I saw the bug after I had finished the drink. I had to hold it in until we left. TH

This week during Chat...

January 30, 2013, 10:13:28 AM PST

 Hello Everyone!

Thank you so much again for the birthday love! Yes mom and dad I was freezing so the gloves, tights, scarfs, and hats are amazing! Also I really appreciated the cards! And Kristen and Ryan I am hoping to find something cool at the antique stores today that is super crazy cool!!! Ya antique stores! Also I got the pictures OF THE BABY! How cool is that? I'm so excited for you Joel and Camie, Jacob, and Emma! Cam, Cara, Camylle, and Claire thank you for the cards and talk to read! I love it!. Kendra I love you and will make time to write you back! The Manns you are so sweet, thank you for your love! And MacGyver thank you for the chocolates!! haha. :)

(The photos from the plays look so awesome!! Jacob and Parker look hilarious and I want to see the recording when I get back for sure!!! And Cym you make a pretty good looking ballerina!)

SO...This week we had time on chat where we talk with people that request chats. :) What an experience it was. Sister Blasco and I were talking to this old man that said he was in a hospital and that he didn't trust the nurse that put him in "Pampers Cruisers 7"....I'm guessing that is brand of disposable underwear for older folks. So as we tried to ask about his beliefs in God, he asks us what he should do with his used Pamper Cruiser 7. We suggested that he should follow the advice of the nurses but he was revolting from them. The best was that Sister Blasco was so confused at what a Pamper Cruiser 7 was and after a game of charades she got it and now will randomly ask me what she should do with her pamper cruiser. hahaha. That has been fun. We had another lady get on chat and basically started an list that she wanted from us, like free movies and books. So we asked if the missionaries could stop by to drop them off because it would be much faster. She said, "Absolutely not!" So we continued to help her out and just as we were about to clip mail she said in all caps, "ALRIGHT THEY CAN COME TO MY HOUSE!" and then disconnected. So there you go, there are some amazing and spiritual experiences on chat and then the others that take you back and you just have to laugh at it. I'm sad that this transfer is coming to an end. Sister Blasco was an answer to my prayers because she stays positive while working hard. It is hard to do something for a long time when you don't have someone who likes to laugh. :)

I hope that you are all having a good winter/spring/summer weather over there! And I love you all so much. Know that each day is a new day to try harder and become a happier person. And as we do those things that bring us closer to our Savior we will find that peace. And please never forget to LAUGH with those that you love! :) I feel blessed to have you all in my life.

Con MUCHO amor

Hermana Clement
